Smcfancontrol para mac4/10/2023 ![]() ![]() But I would recommend deleting it as soon as you are confident with your new install of LOTRO in Crossover.Įdit: Whoops, I forgot to tell you why the "old" client failed to run. When Crossover isn't running, it's as if it isn't there at all (although files in your bottles can be accessed like any other file in your Mac's file system). It should work with no issues at all if you quit out of Crossover first. I don't recommend it but if that's something you want to do for some reason, we can make it happen. Your old install of LOTRO should still work, but with the Crossover install of LOTRO running there are probably some file linking issues. You can see a fully logged-in account at the character creation/selection screen in Space 9 with another account logged in and ready to launch the client in Space 8. ![]() It also helps to run in Full Screen Windowed rather than Full Screen, although Windowed is OK, too. (Spaces are also called Desktops.) I put one instance of the client in each Space which allows me to move between them using a simple command-leftarrow or command-rightarrow (those are the keybinds I use, I think the defaults are control-leftarrow and control-rightarrow). I find that using multiple Spaces helps a lot here. You can repeat this as many times as you like – or at least, as many times as your computer's horsepower can manage the simultaneous client runs! You will then be able to enter the credentials for a second account and complete your log-in and enter the game world with your other account's characters. Once you are logged in with one account, go to your main Crossover window and double-click the icon you use to launch the LOTRO Launcher application again. I know that doing so imputes some convenience but in practice it doesn't work very well. Since the game does run in Crossover, I don't know if you can (or care to ) help, but I would really like to get this feature working again.ĭon't keep the LOTRO Launcher application open. I might as well delete it and save 50 or so GB. So it appears that the SSG-Wine install is dead in the water. From the Mac's Force Quit window I get "Python (not responding)". I choose the account that I want to run, add the password, but nothing happens. The launcher launches, and goes through all the now-typical DLL hoops. Any ideas how I might make multiple instances work?Īlso, I tried running the old SSG Mac Wine-client to see if I could run that along with the Crossover version to get two instances running, but realized that now that version won't run at all, even with Crossover closed. ![]() I've also enabled "Keep Launcher Open" and that works properly. I have verified that the option "Allow Multiple Instances" is enabled. ![]() When I try, all I get is the currently running LOTRO launcher brought to the front. (I keep the running of two instances to a minimum as it causes the MacBook fans to run at high speed, something they don't do when only one instance is running.) Now that I've switched to Crossover, I'm unable to run more than one instance. This has never been an issue, my MacBook Pro is capable of running two instances. We have multiple accounts and when only I am available, I'll sometimes run two instances of LOTRO for brief periods, so I don't have to run back and forth between machines (the other is Win10). Since LOTRO is running well under Crossover, I decided to start a new thread for this issue. ![]()
